How do i ask my step mom about wearing makeup?

k so heres the deal. i was living with my mom most of the time and now i am only living with my dad/step mom and im going into grade 8 how do i ask my step mom if i can wear light makeup? like some foundation powder mascarra and eyeliner. she kinda acts like im a little kid maybe its cause she is kinda new at haveing a teenage daughter anyway how can i ask her? im kinda nervous

Personally, your step mom is not your mother. If your mom allows you to than she can't say otherwise because she'd be crossing that parental line. So i would recommend asking your actual mother first

what i did was i went to the store with my mom and said i like this color and she said yes... and walked on... so i said can i have it?

she said yes again...

but it took me a while to get the courage to ask...

cause i was nervous too.

But i'm now going into 9th grade and i started wearing mascara and eyeliner in 7th grade but i gradually started adding more and more makeup each year.

and most of the time it depends on the person on how to ask.

Did your mom let you wear make-up...cuz maybe if she did (or didn't) just maybe your parents already had this discussion and your dad has informed your step mom as to what they want of you.

just be straight forward - yet nice - believe me something my mom told me has always been true...you catch more flies with sugar then with vinegar...that just means be nice and respectful - state your case - and even if they do not allow you right now they will be more prone to allowing you to have things later because of how in an 'adult' manner you treated them...good luck

next time your at the store ask if you can go take a look at makeup. tell her you want to start wearing a little....then ask her to help you pick some out, and help you learn how to apply it.

letting her help might make her more willing

just write her a note or ask if u can talk to her alone for a minute and just blurt it out. or explain that u think ur old enough and other kids ur age wear make up or call ur real mom for advice and help on how to ask. moms know best! :)

Im going in sixth grade and all i did was go to a tweeen/teen girls store (CLaire's) Find like eyeshadow and say look how cute this is! and them my mom let me get it.
