  1. the way that i use to tie two pieces of line together is to

    1. double back the line for a couple of inches

    2. make the standard knot

    3. you then have a loop which is held by a knot

    4. then tie a half blood knot to the loop and if you do this right it will work a treat- i do it

  2. dude- go get some line

  3. Connecting two lines together always will slow the line down, no matter what knots you use, because it simply catches on the yes of the rod, my suggestion is buy some new line and re-fill your reel, also other problems with joining line is that it can lead to a weak spot in the line that can cause snap-offs when casting and also come undone should you get snagged or hook a good fish.

  4. you should just take the little bit of line off the reel then spool on as much line as you need

  5. best advice buy some power pro fishing line some of the best line I have ever fished with. but to answer your question

1Make a loop in the thicker of the 2 lines. Hold that loop in your left hand. Pass the working end of the second line through the loop.

Step2Pass the working end of the second line over the short part of the loop, then up, behind the loop.

Step3Bring the working end of the second line over the long part of the loop and under itself.

Step4Pull on the loop and the standing end of the second rope to tighten the sheet bend.

  6. strip the old, get new....  get enough to fill the reel, then attach a barrle swivel to the end or use a double knot for a leader, which is what is left on the filler spool,  tie  the lure/hook to this. as you need, just put a new leader on, or use a swivel snap or any one of the knotless ones. (knotless is meant to be the ones you do not have to retie every time you change lures)

  7. It sounds like you didn't put very much line on your reel after you spliced it to your main line.  When the terminal end of my line on my spinning reels gets bad, I'll strip off about 50 yds. and splice new line on, from a spool of fresh line.  I'm not sure what the name of the knot I use is, but it's like the Trilene knot, and it never gives me any trouble.

  8. There is a specific knot that you use when fusing 2 lines together - it is a hard knot to tie - In my opinion you would be better off taking off all of the line and starting from scratch with just one line.  It is easier and also  stronger.

  9. I would advise that you give a check out to the website, http://fishingknot.net/ They have many different ways to tie a fishing knot and might have a way for you to two to lines together. I would suggest that you strip the old line from you reel and add completely new line to the entire reel, thus keep the line the same without issues.

  10. I use back to back Uni knots for tying braid to mono, or Fluoro, or leaders to light lines.

These days I just use P-line Halo for all my fishing needs, because it is AWESOME!

You could also just go spend 6 bucks at Wal-Mart on Sufix Elite, in the .lb test you like, and get 300 yards, enough to fill a couple of baicasters or spinning reels.

    6 bucks!

As mentioned, it sounds liek you had too much of the old line on the spool, and too short a length of the new line, which puts the knot closer to the line guides, causing it to catch on them, and the levelwind line "eye".

  11. i would just buy new line.  as for attaching it to the reel, do a google search
