  1. The only thing I can add to Just-Gone's answer is that you don't have to hit the ball "sharply"  IF you have really good follow through.  However, if you don't follow through with your stroke, you run the risk of not getting draw, and "stunning" the cue ball, leaving it where it contacted the object ball.  Practice this shot until you are confortable with it before using it in a match.

  2. Shoot low and in the center of the cue ball. Aprox. one and a half a cue tip down. The distance down the vertical axis of the cue ball depends on how far you are from your object ball. the farther away the object ball is from the cue ball the harder you have to hit it. The reason most people have problems is they without knowing raise the butt of their cue (their back hand) when they try to draw. in order to get good draw action your back hand must stay level. when you try to shoot have someone watch you, you are not cueing low enuff (affraid you will miss cue) or more than likely raising your back elbow and the cue.

  3. Hit the cue ball sharply 1/2" below center, and you will "draw" the ball back after it contacts the object ball, if the table has enough felt for the spin to take.

If the felt is worn smooth, it won't work.

  4. For Y! Pool, look for the english ball located at the top right on the table. English is defaulted to the center of the ball, and all you have to do is click on the bottom of the english ball to add backspin. You can move the english completely around the ball, and I recommend practicing on an unrated or practice table for awhile in order to learn the different types of spin you can put on the cue ball.

    Happy shooting!
