How do i back up my itunes when their only on my ipod?

Ack! That happened to me too! I thought I had lost all of my music. Technically, you are not supposed to be able to copy those files from your iPod back to your PC, but there are programs that will allow you to do so. I used ephpod and was able to recover all of my music except for a few albums which I simply could not access.

There are lost of programs out there that will allow you to do this.  Not sure as to the legality of it.  I think most of them state that you must own the actual cd.  I believe also that if you have downloaded the songs through iTunes then they keep a record of all that...not positive though.

When I did this I used a program called iDump.  There are many others out there though.

If all your songs are on your ipod you use this program called idump that transfers the songs back to your itunes. It is real easy to use and download and free. Heres the link...

when you plug in your ipod to your computer, go to "my computer" then click on the ipod icon, the files on your music is hidden so u cant take music off ur ipod... technically. just show the hidden files. go to tools then folder options then under the view tab theres a folder that should say dont show hidden files, just click to show them. then after that go find the music folder on ur ipod and drag the folder over to itunes. also this way u dont need a program. technically its illegal but noone will really know or care.
