  1. yes because your still a teacher you just take classes for the lower grades talk to a counselor

  2. Check with the college you plan on attending to make sure they have a Bachelors of Education Program. You'll want to enroll in Early Childhood. Find out what grades it will cover. In Ohio ours only covers prek-3rd. Some Early Childhood degrees (depending on the state) will get you k-6. I would also consider looking at the market in your area. When I started my program an EC Degree was in demand. When I graduated the market was completely saturated. I sat an an interview and was told there were 400 applicants for 1 position....re-locating might be neccesary if you can't find something in your area. But once you re-locate another state might have different qualifications in which you'll end up with more courses and tests.  Good Luck! and remember the pay stinks but it's worth it

  3. Once you get into college, enroll in their Elementary or Early Childhood Education degree program.  You'll take a bunch of teacher education courses as well as the university's general education courses.  For a bachelor's degree, it usually takes an average of 4-5 years, depending on setbacks.

Most elementary degrees with teaching certification are good for teaching grades K-6, and early childhood bachelor degrees are usually good for working with children in nursery school all the way to 3rd grade.
