How do i become a lifeguard?

i will 15 by next summer which is when i want to start. i can only do the american red cross program. how much does it cost? when can i start? do u hav any other options on programs i can do?

If you can only do American Red Cross, the cost can very depending on who you take the class from, each authorized provider can charge fees based on what they feel their time is worth for teaching, usually though you're looking at between $110-$125 dollars, you should probably check with the facility you want to work at, as you have to be 16 to work but some facilities hire 15 year old employees because they can't fill their staffs, for ARC lifeguarding classes you have to be 15 years of age, as far as programs, there are other lifeguarding classes out there like YMCA, Elias, Boyscouts and there are like two more I think, but some facilities only accept ARC, again check with the place you want to work.
