  1. You can first look on the model/photographer networking sites like One Model Place and Model Mayhem.

Look for photographers in your area that shoot TFP and shoot with as many as you can to get used to different photographers styles and your different looks

Then look for "open calls" with agencies and attend them.

Last night I did a shoot for a magazine and the theme of the shoot was petite models  They were all 5' to 5'4".  They are mostly models for petite clothing lines, editorial and body parts

  2. Height matters in modeling. I'm assuming you are a woman here coz you didn't say.You need to be a minimum of 5'8" tall, any less and you wont even be considered. Assuming you are your figure has to be right too. models aren't like real women.

The modeling industry prefers there women to look like very skinny teenage boys. so if you have tall, skinny, boyish looks you stand a chance. If you look womanly, i.e. you have curves... you may as well forget it.

Try to contact some reputable modeling agencies, they will give you the best advice. such as where to get portfolio shots done, what kind of coaching you might need , etc.

Its a job just like any other and it takes commitment and determination to succeed.

    Good luck
