  1. These days you'll want to get a mechanical engineering degree. UNC Charlotte is the ideal place to get the degree because it is a well-respected school and very close to the race teams. My boyfriend's brother worked with Hendrick Motorsports while he was in college and moved to the Red Bull Racing Team after he graduated (for financial reasons obviously). You'll need to get some experience as a volunteer first at the local level or something like ARCA. Working for free and doing a good job will get you recognized and probably help you establish some contacts with guys already on the teams. I think it will be very important to meet someone that is already in the business because that seems to be the only way in these days.

  2. You would have to have vast racing tech experience first. Not the kind taught in school, but real world. Then you would have to move to N. Carolina. If you could get a job at one of the teams, you would start at the very bottom and have to move yourself up the ladder.

  3. UTI they show commercials all the time. Its in North Carolina somewhere. Good luck.

  4. UTI and NTI are not all they are  cracked up to be.  They are located in Mooresville, NC and lately I have been hearing it is not worth the 30k plus a year to get the paper.  Mainly it is becoming a cancer to some so to speak and the amount of employees in NASCAR through this school is limited.

You will more than likely end up as a technician at a car dealership back in your home state after a degree from NTI.

  5. Just go to a shop and ask them.
