How do i become a power lineman?

My cousin-in-law works for Edison Electric Co. I would love to get into that kind of work myself. I have no previous experience at all, however. What do i have to do to become a lineman? and do places like that ever just hire people that have no experience and teach them?

You may want to go to the local IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Union office and see about their apprenticeship program.
