  1. get a bike first!

  2. lots  lots of training practise and practise  get riding mate and enjoy the love of it first its great to ambitions but get real just ride for the love of it first  ah the wind in your face nothing like it but yes practise

  3. I don't want to disallusion you but I think that you should really aim a little lower for a start.  Some of the guys who have only recently stepped up to being pro in the last few years like Kade Mosig and Adam Monea to name just a couple have been racing since they could first manage to put their leg over a motorbike.  Even the rides that they have managed to get are not assured year to year as they have to constantly prove themselves and Adam is not fully sponsored even though he is doing very well.

At 12 you would be stepping into a very competitive area of racing.  It would depend upon what state you begin racing in but if in victoria you would begin as a C grader and then have to work your way towards A grade and with only 4 years till you are forced to turn senior it is darn hard to make it to A grade.  Even if you did you then drop a grade to go to senior.     You also have to get a race licence before you can race here and have to do 5 hours of coaching to get that and then 5 hours every year till you turn senior.

By all means get a bike and give it a go but don't ride to expect to become a pro,  just ride to have fun.

Look up a few names like Shaun Redhead and Josh Cachia and see some of the things they have achieved over their racing lives and you will see what I mean about attempting to become pro here in Oz.  It is hard enough for the kids who have raced all their lives.

Just to start with though look up the state that you are ins controlling body.  Go to www.motorcyclingvic.com.au and that has links to all the other states.  Look on that site and look up local clubs in your area as you have to belong to a local club to get a race licence application.  Once you have joined up the club secretary will be able to help guide you as to what you need to do before you can get the licence.

Racing is fun no matter what level you do it at so do have fun.

  4. You need to be at national level by the age of 12, at least.

So good luck lmao, you may think it looks easy but once that gates drops for the first time and you get lapped by everyone (which you WILL), you'll realise just how hard it truly is.

  5. First move to the US. All great motocross riders live here. The only way non US riders win is when the good US riders are hurt. Except for JMB.
