I am 15 and would like o become a sniper when i am older, however i do want to go to sixth form (college) so i would be around 18 when i would enroll. I know this requires a lot of mental and physical strengh, but this is something i have always been interested in.

I have reserched what skills are needed and i think i am capable. I am not some young kid who has played lots of games and watched movies about being a sniper, so on a whim has decided to become one. It requires patience to stalk your target, what may take days even weeks, while being deprived from food and 'comforts' of modern day life. I have reserched the role of a sniper well and am interested how exacly i would become one.

*I am british, not american i need to know how to get into being a sniper in he U.K

  1. you can choose what area you specialize in after a while in the army.

  2. Being a sniper wont be easy and is not easy to apply for, when you enlist in the army you will have your chance at the firing range with a standard la85a2 assault rifle in which you much score 36 or higher at the firing range with a spread of up to 1 inch from anything from 100 yards to 200 yards. But being a sniper is one of the most demanding tasks in the army up to date,a standard infantry man will shoot up to 30 or 40 rounds and probably hit a target a sniper on the other hand must judge wind, rang, latitude and longitude of there target and must take that target out with that one perfect shot.

  3. Learn to shoot, not with telescopic sights or anything like that, when you can get a 1 inch group of 5 rounds at 100 yards with standard ammo, then apply!!

  4. There's no such job as a "Sniper" in the British Army. You can do a Sniper course but you will be an Infantry Soldier but if they need a Long Range Marksmen you will be there. You should just join the Army and do your Sniper's course once you've finished your Continuation training. Or, so I was told but I would definitely check this you can speak to NCO's on line at www.army.mod.uk

Unfortunatelly I'm no expert as I'm only going through the recruitment process myself.

  5. are you sure you want to be a sniper because sniper people get messed up like they have to go to therapy after the war and they are still messed up like there was this one sniper his wife has to throw a pillow at him to wake him up because if she does h**l punch her

  6. join the infantry, when you join the infantry you will be given a company.......in my batalion there was

    a combany

    c company

    r company

and support company (mortars, anti tanks, sniper platoon)

red asses / ***'s usualy start off in a rifle company.. a, c , and r support companys in any regiment are for senior blokes who have been in a long time.but if you are in a rifle company and show a massve intrest in being a sniper. they run cadres (courses) these are done in brecon beacons and require alot of fitiness....

there is no stalking your target for 7 days deprived of food and water lol.......snipers are atached to rifle company and offer long range observation. aditional wepon systems and obviousley greater acuracy from greater distances.

this is the one and only answer. dont listen to half of the civv divv's on this page.

  7. okay let me ask you this:

can you a fly off a horses **** at 750 yards?

just basically, you have to be one HECK of a good shot to become a sniper for any military.

Also, you could join the U.S Army and take Sniper School BUT you have to be top notch in all areas mentally and physically. Train yourself up now, and prepare yourself for this difficuilt role because no average joe becomes a sniper. you gotta be something special.
