How do i become an anesthesiologist??

i'm currently taking my general education or "core classes" in college, but i'm undecided on a major.

i think i want to enter the medial field, and was thinking about being an anesthesiologist.

what do i have to do to become one? or what classes do i need to take? do i have to do nursing? how many years will it take me?

  1. It is a specialty area in medical school.  Getting into medical school is notoriously challenging.


  2. An anestheologist is a physician; MD. If you don't want to go to medical school to become a doctor there is the nurse anesthestist who helps the physician in the OR. Either profession pays very well. If it's a nursing, become a nurse first, bachelors degree(4 yrs), and then get a masters in anestheology. I'm sure the classes will involve physics since you will be responsible for figuring out the amount of gas a person receives. Chemistry, anatomy, biology, physiology...It's alot of hard work and alot of responsibility.  Good luck.
