  1. If it's anything like the companies I deal with they don't need you to do anything to write the business, the customer pretty much does it himself. The big drawback for the customer is that when they run into a problem they don't have an agent to go to bat for them. The big drawback for agents is that it's just that much more money (commision) the company can s***w you out of.

  2. Lots of Allstate agents buy Internet leads from a provider such as iLeads.com, at : http://www.ileads.com  An internet lead is pre-qualified in the sense that the consumer has already performed a search with a search engine, looking for a solution to a problem. They have then taken the time to fill out a form, requesting a quote. A good lead provider “scrubs” the lead to make sure the data is valid before sending it to you. All of this is done in seconds after the consumer fills out the form. If you pay a little more, you can have the lead exclusively for a period of time. The nice thing about iLeads.com is that they enhance their insurance leads with data from First American Financial, so you will have a better handle on how serious and qualified the lead is and perhaps even be able to prepare a quote before you call. Good luck!
