  1. For underhand serving, try hitting the ball with your fist and contacting the ball with four fingers and the "fatty-end" of your palm.

It would be easier if you don't have to toss the ball... just hit it off your other hand, otherwise toss the ball as low as possible and hit the ball as soon as you toss it, with a side-swing of your hitting arm towards the ball while keeping your target inline (fist-ball-target). Follow thru after contacting the ball would transfer more power from your swing to the ball so that the ball can travel over the net without bombing over your setter's head :)

    Have fun playing volleyball.

  2. you still cant do Underhand serves after 2yrs?? ohh ur cut by that time you should be able to do Overhand, I was 10 when I could do overhands, there isnt much to say if ya cant do it after 2yrs not good, ask some freinds on the team how. Or maybe overhand is better for you and its a better serve or maybe ur just 12 year old playing school V-Ball right?? In that case just practice practice and don't put ur self down

    Good luck with the try-out

  3. as with all sports  PRACTICE!

  4. try putting a little more force in the serve...and on the volleyball....pretend that it's the earth and the place where ur holding it should be like n. or s. america...aim for australia...i did that at my old school..and i went from horrible to good...and don't forget to practice

  5. The only way to help you get better at this is to practice, practice, practice. Try getting a few friends together and just volly the ball around. Every few minutes back up farher and farther and see how far you can serve the ball. I did this with my friend when she was going to have her vollyball tryouts and it really helped! good luck.

  6. Why is your only option underhand??  That sounds ridiculous, although it could be showing off, and that may be why.  Anyways, When underhand serving, take a step as you contact the ball with your fist.  Never open hand underhand serve, because it is called as a lift and is illegal.  Ok, so when you contact the ball, hit it while it is resting on your hand, DON"T!!!!!! ever let go of the ball or toss it, because then you have zero control over where it goes.  just work on the form every once and awhile, and it will help, i promise.  Full refund if it is defective! :D

  7. Aww you're lucky, I hate overhand serving, and I only like to serve underhand. What I do is just be sure to steady the ball in your hand, and concentrate on hitting it in just the right spot. Do it slow at first, like just pretend to hit it, don't actually hit it. Just swing your arm at it, like you're gonna hit it, but don't. Then when you get the feel of it, practice hitting it. A good thing to do is picture the ball is the head of someone you don't like (hahaha) and hit the c**p out of it!! LOL. Good luck!

  8. Practice practice practice...Don't think too much about it.. Relax and don't get too over worked...

  9. The key with underhand serves is timing, speed, and force. Make sure you pull back your hand and hit the ball really fast and hit it so it goes up and out, near the bottom of the ball. You might want to swing your arm back and keep your elbow locked and straight. The make your hand into a fist and hit the ball with the hard (heelish) part of your hand. Also try stepping forward with your serves. Hope i can be of some help. :) good luck

  10. It takes tons of practice. You might not pick me as best answer. No one does but still.Practice always makes you perfect!

  11. ok, you have the same problem as i did, and i found an easy solution. you know how your wrist "hits" the ball in an underhand serve, all you need to do is to position your hand differently. put your hand in a fist, and make sure the side with your thumb on the top comes in contact with the ball. swing your arm back, take a step forward while bringing your arm in and serve the ball, it worked great for me, ad now i'm a consistent server, good luck!

  12. ITS CALLED PRACTICE. jeeeeeez

  13. count until 3.

Hold the ball and stroke your arms back and forth 3 times.

  14. Best bet would be to get a team mate to show you and watch you to see what you're doing wrong.
