    You'll be nocturnal wether you like it or not once you start doing midterms.

    and termpapers.

  2. At 13, I think you're going to find it difficult. You still have to live at home and go to school, so sleeping during the day is going to be a problem.

    As soon as you're old enough to leave school though, I suggest you follow this 5 step program:

    1) Get a job working nights, ideally starting at around 10pm and finishing around 4-5am in the morning.

    2) Buy some blackout curtains to prevent being disturbed by sunlight during the daylight hours.

    3) Make friends with some artists and/or drug addicts who are the only other people awake all night.

    4) Buy Vitamin D supplements in bulk.

    5) Order premium cable package.

    Good luck. I was nocturnal for the entire year of 1991 and it was a whole lot of fun.

  3. You're 13. Being nocturnal wouldn't be good for you since you need to be active and awake during the day. (at least if you go to school during the day)

    then again it's summer... stay up all night (play video games, watch tv, exercise, etc), sleep during the day. Make sure you room is dark it will be much easier to fall asleep with out the sunlight streaming in.  After a awhile your body will start to adjust.

    Personally I am more of a night person. I want to go out and do stuff late at night, but everything is closed.  ;-p

  4. You can't become nocturnal. You're a human being and human beings are diurnal -- nothing you do can change that.

    If you try to force yourself to be awake during the night and asleep during the day you run the risk of disrupting your natural sleep-wake cycle which could have some unpleasant side-effects (like disorientation, falling asleep unintentionally and memory problems). Considering your age it might also negatively affect production of human growth hormone.
