How do i book a year end/ turn around cruise?

an older lady told me about year long cruises where people pay 50k to take a cruise around the world for a year, she said after they reach thier destination the ship books people who are at the destination ( italy for example) to book a ticket back to the us for a very low price. do you know anything about this?
