  1. Yes, go to the train station and tell them where you want to go and when! They will tell you whether you need a supplement with the Interrail or not.

If you go to France, be sure to get your tickets for TGV trains about a week in advance, as there are only a few places on each train reserved for Interrailers! The situation is the same with night trains in Western Europe as well (you must get a reservation for those). Good luck and bon voyage!

  2. Go to the station and ask if you have to make a reservation or not. Usually, you don't, and you can just hop on board the train.

On some trains you do have to make a reservation and you just do it there and then at the train station. Try and do it as early as possible to guarantee that you get a seat.

When I was "interrailing" for a month, me and my friend never really had any problems getting on trains. There was one night we had to spend in a train station restaurant when we couldn't get on the night train from Krakow, Poland, but that is just the fun of interrailing...the little unexpected things that happen.

  3. You make any reservations at the station where you plan to leave from.  Usually, the only trains that need a reservation are the high speed ones... TEE... TGV... etc or the night trains with sleeper cars... but just make the reservations at your departure station.

  4. The information on the interrail site tells you to make reservations at the stations when they're needed. http://www.interrailnet.com/2_train_rese... You just need to go to one of the ticket windows and tell them you have the interrail pass and only want the reservation (and supplement when required). I haven't had any problem at the main stations here in Italy, but there isn't a ticket office in the town where I live. There's a travel agency here that handles train tickets, so I can get reservations there.
