she was a great english teacher in Guangzhou for almost 20 years. Recently, she's moved to U.S. and become a part time cashier. She wants to buy a nice house, car, ect. and my neighborhoood's pretty expensive to live in. Currency' s like $1 us = $6-7 Reminbai. She's seems so whiny & so often, not like the big sister figure i remember. Her husband just mocks her for being a cashier, even though he's unemployed and speaks only a mouthful of English. ( He asked what his name is again a few days ago.) I don't know what she seens in him. He discouraged her from being a nursing assistant and kept on laughing. What does she see in him? I remember all those years ago when i knewy he was bad news for her.

  1. Ants already have confidence.

  2. Why is she not an English Teacher or Tutor?  Why is she not substituting in school?  You don't need a degree to be a substitute only 60 hours of college.  She would be called everyday to work and would have her choice of assignments.  She would certainly stay employed at a Community College, if for nothing else, and English Lab tutor.  I think she lacks direction, and perhaps you need to give it to her.  Look in the local paper or online for Education jobs.  Then tell her "Hey, someone told me about substitute teachers making $$ and hour and you only need this much college.  Why don't you apply?"
