How do i build a Green website?

I'm putting up a green website with a focus on DIY Alternative Energy Guides and i sure would like some input. ie, to much clutter, bad colors, good content, etc. any info would be helpful.

first and formost make sure your background is green. I started a brown website and made my background brown.

With your website you have the ability to help society if you so choose. Write your Congressman and urge him/her to allow drilling in Alaska and off the Coast of California. Your neighbor will thank you when they can afford braces for their child rather than paying $4 a gallon for gas. Also show that you are green by making sure you have a green car. I heard Earl Scheib will paint your Hummer green for less than $300.

There are many good books about web page design. I'd review them in a large bookstore and pick one that matches your style. Simplicity and creating a site that matches your well-defined objectives is critical.

If you have the money, I'd consider hiring a professional or hiring a professional to consult with you on the design of the site.
