How do i burn movies into a DVD-R or RW?

i like to watch the movies on my tv, but most of them are the ones that i downloaded form the internet. how do i burn the movies into a DVD-R or RW? also, after i burn it, can i watch the movies that's on the disk that i burned on the TV?

Essentially, whatever format the videos on your computer are, they'd need to be converted to a DVD compatible format.  In certain cases you might be able to simply get a DVD authoring program, import those videos into it, and it'll create the DVD files and burn the disc for you.  Certain programs may not accept the type of file format the web movies are in though.. so they may need to be converted into something like DV AVI.

You could also directly convert your computer video files to the mpeg2 file format.. which should be readable on most DVD players.  Certain never DVD players also support DivX and XVid video.. in which case if the movies on your computer are in those formats, certain DVD player will read them as is... and all you'd need to do is burn them to disc.

Unless you have the necessary software already such as if it came with your DVD burner, you'll likely need to download file conversion software or DVD authoring software. You can most likely find both.. both for FREE and for purchase at Download.com.  There's likely other places on the web you can check too. So for instance, if you have a DivX movie file.. and your DVD doesn't play those... you could try finding software that will convert DivX (AVI) to Mpeg2 video.. then simply burn that new file onto the DVD and player it on your DVD player. Obviously to do any of thise at all you'll need a DVD recording drive on your computer.
