  1. $206.00 apx for the fuel there & back. That does not include preventive maintenance & any additional amounts you may spend for when your there touring n' such.

    516 times 2, divided by 20, times $4.

  2. More than you would have last year!

  3. Break it down.

516 mile is about 520 miles.  That about 26 gallons. (520 / 20 miles per gallon).

You pay $4 per gallon, so $4 x 26 = $104 (for one way trip).

    Good Luck...

P.S.  when you are making estimation, don't get bogged down in too many decimal places.

  4. What I always do is a test run.  Buy a tank of gas and run on the high way until it's dry.

The books will tell you you get X miles per gallon.  But you're car will tell you something different.  You want a good answer, you'll need to do a run and find out just how far a tank of gas will take you.

I'm driving 1100 KM's this weekend.  My car is said to get X amount of KM's per Litre.  I know for a fact that I get 600KM's per tank.
