How do i calculate my gpa on a 4.0 scale?

and do honors/AP, AE, and standard level matter? if they do, how do i calculate that into my gpa?

  1. Some schools will give you an extra point for AP classes, like an A would score 5, instead of 4, or B would be 4 pts instead of 3.

    You add all your points/credits for each class, and divide by the number of classes taken, to get a GPA.

    But, sometimes you get grades or scores in a percent.  If so, you figure out GPA on 4.0 scale as follows:

    You  have to do a proportion problem.

    Let's say you had a AP, AE or whatever score/grade of 85 percent.

    You'd set problem up like this:

    x is to 4.0 as 0 .85  is to 1

    x = 3.4

    So, an 85% works out to be 3.4
