How do i calculate the area of a trapezium with four different side lenghts?

i know the angles but how do i calculate it??maybe triangular format?

  1. You need to know the angles too.

    Then lie it on one side and use the angles and Pythagoras's theorem to divide the whole lot into right-angled triangles and rectangles. Then calculate the area from those.


  2. sine x = opposite perpendicular side length/  hypotenuse length

    cosine x = neighbor perpendicular side length/ hypotenuse length

    If you know the side lengths and the angles draw a perpendicular from base to one of the upper corners. Than you have the height of the trapezium.Calculate it from the inner base angle of the perpendicular triangle that you have drawn.Calculate it with sine because you have divided the upper angle into two and base part length you don't know.What you know about the triangle is the side of the trapezium which is now the hypotenuse and the inner base angle of the triangle.From sine equation you will calculate the height of the trapezium. Than the formula for the area of a trapezium is  A = 1/2 x height x ( upper side length + base side length ). The sides I am talking about is the two parallel sides.

  4. Divide it into triangles and then it is just base length x perpendicular height divided by two.

    You do not need right angle triangles.
