How do i cancel a direct debit online with Halifax

Hi i want to cancel a direct debit with halifax but when i click on it all it says is view or delete I dont know how to do it i got sentana sport for £5 for 3 month and i have noticed they have put the price up as i forgot to cancel after the 3 month How do i cancel them many thanks

deleteting it does the trick. i just cancelled one. i know it does not fill you with confidence that they will not take any more money out but it worked for me. i felt like i needed to call in to the bank to confirm deletion but resisted the urge and it all worked out.

Hi,

To cancel a Direct Debit, click on the Direct Debit you wish to cancel from your list of Direct Debits. Enter the date you want the Direct Debit to expire on. Click ‘Continue’ to cancel the Direct Debit. Please note that you must give us at least 5 business days notice if you want to cancel a Direct Debit, and you must also contact the originator of the Direct Debit (the organisation to whom the Direct Debit is being paid) to inform them that they will no longer be allowed withdraw funds from your account and ensure that the cancellation is complete.

There is no "cancel" option as the bank won't notify who set up the direct debit, you have to do that yourself and then delete the direct debit from the bank or just delete it and they'll get the picture when they can't take the money and cancel your subscription.

it would be easyer to ring them,the number is usually on te back of your bank statment,it wont take long,and then if you speak to someone in person youll know its done x
