  1. hmmm, you could cancel the card and apply for a new one.

  2. The only way I can think of is canceling your card # that's being used for the auto-debits and having the card re-issued under a new #. This will stop the payments.

To be safe, send a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt to RealPlayer and SuperGame confirming that you want to cancel your account with them.

  3. On your bank statement, is there a number where you can contact the merchant? You can cancel that way.  If you still can't contact them, you should file a claim with your bank or at least ask them to do a stop payment on the merchant.

  4. sadly, just cancelling the card doesn't work as as soon as you get a new card somehow the payments keep going out. What you have is basically a standing order but from a card rather than through the bank details.

It's a HUGE pain in the bum to stop im afraid. You need to contact the company that are taking the payment and ask them to stop. You need to do this at least 3 times and document e.g print emails. Then if the payments are still coming off the card you need to go into your bank and explain the payments are coming off the card monthly and you have asked them to stop, show them the proof, then they will be able to stop.

In a nut shell, it's not illegal it just means someone in another dept has to go about getting the regular payment cancelled and the bank cant be arsed doing this which is why they tell you to go and contact the company yourself and come back if you have no luck with proof you've tried. Remember: cancelling your card wont work!!!!

    Good luck!

  5. The easy route is to tell the bank you lost your credit card and need a new one. They issue a new number case closed.

If the money is coming directly out of your bank checking\savings account, (Never do that!), then you will need to do some homework on the web-site' customer support section.

Also most banks will give you the contact number they have on record for the transaction. If there is no phone number or address, try to contest the charge on the grounds that you are unable to contact them to cancel reoccurring billings.
