  1. i just found a baby bird too well didnt listen to those other people well here my suggestion on what to feed the bird. first feed it dog/cat food soaked in warm water. in between those bites of dog/cat food that you give the bird, wash it down with water in a eye dropper. other foods that you can feed the bird is a hard boiled egg, crushed up tums soaked in a little water, also any kind of vegetable baby food is good maybe even some apple sauce.

  2. he needs to be warm, so make a makeshift nest out of old clothes, rags, etc. find some worms to feed it. maybe put a hot water bottle in a box with some rags for it.

  3. Put some hay/grass in the bottom of a box where he can stay.  Feed him milk through an eyedropper and pieces of worm by tweezers.  That should cover everything.

  4. You have a good heart to try to help this bird, but I used to have a site saved that told how to care for orphaned birds, and number 1 NO-NO is don't give it any liquids, it can aspirate them.  And it also is a myth that you can't put a bird back once you have touched him.  I realize in this case you might not know where exactly that is.  Try googling "care of orphaned birds" and I'm sure you will find something.  Or if you have a bird rescue and rehab.around, (we have two,not real close, but I will make the drive when needed).  They know exactly how to feed it.  Or look them up in yellow pages and if they are a distance, call them and talk to them.  Wishing you and the little guy luck.

  5. If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly.   You need to replace it where you found it..preferably in a scrub or tree so it is relatively safe from predators, and the parents should come back to feed it. Keep your dog out of this area.  If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest.  Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched.  If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival.  Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own.  Look for a rehab here:
