Question:

How do i care for my indoor Sunflower plant?

I have one Sunflower planted and it is drying up. Was looking beautiful for two weeks after i bought it Thanks!!!

  1. It's hard to tell from what you have written if you have planted the sunflower and grown it yourself indoors, or whether you bought a miniature sunflower plant somewhere and are using it as a houseplant.

    I'm astonished you are able to get a sunflower to grow indoors at all.  I'm astonished that you could get it to grow for any length of time in a pot, but hybridizers have been shrinking sunflowers a lot lately, despite calendulas zinnias and cosmos all being better potted yellow annuals.

    Sunflowers need LOTS of sun.  When they get enough sun, they like lots of water, but they are slow about taking it up which would be hard for it to do in ordinary potting soil (if you planted it yourself).  Set it in a large dish, or remember to water it alot.


  2. Sunflowers need to be outside to get full sun.
