How do i cennect to my wireless internet on my laptop?

i just got a laptop. HP windows xp. I'm trying to connect to the interenet network thats set up in my home. I have the code for the wireless and my computer has a wireless card. Everytime i go to the control panel and stuff, it asks for a flash drive ro to "do it manually." Hel please?

on the keyboard, check for a wireless connection button...usually need to push that...so a light comes on.  then control panel etc.

why spend money on a laptop when you can get it for free? just go to this site and complete a few quick tasks and they'll send you a sony vaio laptop at no charge!

First go to control panel. Then click on network and internet connections. After that click on the link set up or change your internet connection. There it should detect your wireless internet, and ask you if you would like to log on.

Hi there on my laptop I have a button on the side. So small I didn't even know it existed until about 5 weeks ago. Curios as I am I switched it to on and hey presto it instantly picked up the connection. All I had to do was type in my code and I was on-line. I didn't have to set anything up.

A bit hard to describe what the simble looks like but I will give it a go.

It kind of looks like a radio antenna with waves coming of the top.

As silly as that sounds. LOL
