Question:

How do i change a Driver Letter?

I had a Hard Drive that has Windows on it and it was Drive C: then when i tried putting in another hard disk somewhere alone the line the Drive letter turned to E: and now some programs will not run because they are looking for a C Drive how do i change it back

if you know any programs or methods to do this please help thanks.

  1. Follow the steps:

    >> Click on Start>Run.

    >> Type in compmgmt.msc or go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management.

    >> On the left hand side under Storage select Disk Management.

    >> On the right hand side you'll see the disk that has turned to E:

    >> Right click on that disk and click on Change Drive Letter.

    >> Click on Change and assign the letter C.

    >> If any other disk has turned to C you will have to rename it to some other like G or H, and only then you will be able to rename the drive you want to C.

    >> Click on OK twice and then close the window.

    Hopefully this should solve the problem.
