the hydraulic hose that goes from the hydraulic pump through the transom and to the outdrive has busted. i have been told that the only way to fix it is to pull the engine to get to the fittings. is this true? are there easier ways of doing this?

  1. You might have to pull engine to get the the hose.  There is never anything easy to fix on boats.

  2. They are just a flexible rubber or braided hose-one on each ram.  Just unscrew it and s***w the new one back on.  Bleed the lines of air by disconnecting them and running the pump.
