Whenever I'm talking to my friends in person or on the phone, there are always awkward silences. however. when talking to them online thru myspace/facebook/AIm it is not awkward. IN fact, two of my best friends i only became close with on AIM. I'm a really shy person and i think that that may be why. It doesn't stop me from being invited to hangout or whatever, but when i do, i'm always silently awkward...even when i talk to teachers...etc...

how do i be less awkwardly quiet in person and on the phone like I am online? ANd is anyone like this?

  1. Im soo familiar to this problem. Dont let it get you down, Try to think of a new topic to talk about or ask a question or if you cant just say something like ' idont know what else to say' or 'im bored'/'im tierd' its what i do x

  2. yes im like this and its tough sometimes

  3. I feel like I have this problem sometimes, but it's definitely become less of an issue the more I grew up.

Maybe try bring up something you talked about, or talk about a lot, online? That way, it's sure to be a topic you're probably already comfortable talking about a good deal.

Despite becoming a h**l of a lot more confident since I turned 18 and moved overseas (19 now), I still get random shy moments. It happens.

  4. That is in the same situation I am in like every day....I have social anxiety so it's kinda hard for me, actually talk..!

If you are talking to your friends, just talk about some funny moments that happened in the past or, "What are you doing this weekend"...or talk about school.....

"OMG, I got to tell you something"..

"Did you watch the new episode of-----"..

    "ookk...sooo what's up?"
