  1. Sometimes if u look where it has the delete button that also works as the channel button !!! Try that out an see if that works for you !!!

  2. i had this trouble with a cheap bt telephone, it crackled and whined it was poor, then i changed to a Panasonic dect phone and the line was perfect....

try also re-sighting the phone/base it maybe something daft like a fridge interfering with it.....

  3. just use your phone... new phones do not have a channel button for a reason, because they change channels several times a second, to find the best quality signal, and to prevent interfearance, and eavesdropping...

check your phone jack and cord with a diffrent phone and see if you still have the static... if so you may need to call your local phone provider, or do further troubleshooting of your inside wiring..

  4. Location, Location, Location.... More often then not you'll have the same problem no matter what channel your using.. Reason for most noise on a cordless phone is the location of the base unit...

Sometimes by moving the base unit as little as an inch can make a big difference... Have somebody listen to the ear piece for noise while somebody else moves the base unit around... Also try not to place the base unit on top of or next to a refrigerator or use the same outlet as one as that can cause noise when it's running...

I did a search on your BRIT TELE XD5100 trying to locate a user manual on line but no such luck... I found that they never spoke of it having more then one channel even in reviews of the phone, so it probably doesn't...

Being near anything electronic can cause noise including the PC... If you can try to unplug the PC and see if that makes any difference... But like I said sometimes even the smallest move of the base unit makes a big difference.....

  5. by pressing the ch button on the hand set.

  6. Possibly not the problem, but you can unplug the base unit for a few minutes, (allowing any capacity holding voltage to decay) then plug it back in. Also most units will change a channel just by putting it back in the charger mode on the base station. (Most newer cordless phones do NOT have a channel button.)

  7. On your cordless phone there should 6e a channel 6utton (may 6e la6eled "Chan"). Simply press that 6utton while on the phone until you get rid of the "cracl<ling." You may have to press it several times.
