How do i change the brake pads on my 07 dodge caliber myself? It is fairly easy?

  1. yep al you'll need is a socket set a crossbar and sometimes a screwdriver it very self explanatory but the only part you may get stumped on is you have to compress the piston with a vise of some sort before you try to put new pads on


  2. its not bad changing brake pads but one main thing you have to remember is your dealing with anti lock brakes,don't apply any back pressure to the anti lock brake pump, loosen a bleeder to let the fluid flow out rather than push it back in to the pump when you compress the calipers,if not you,ll get a brake light coming on all the time and you may have to take it and have them professionally bleed out ,anti lock brakes are a lot different than regular brakes are,good luck.

  3. it is fairly easy to replace brake pads on that car. however take time to ensure you lift the car properly/safely and take your time especially if you've never done brakes before. if you have any doubts, err to the side of caution and have a professional do it for you!
