I have a new 12v deep cycle marine battery-

1- Do I charge it every time i use it?

2- Also my charger has a setting for 6 volt or 12 volt- which should i use?

3- The meter on the charger reads 0-15 dc amperes. Do i want to charge the battery all the way up to 15 amps?

  1. Deep cycle batteries are made to discharge slowly and charge slowly.  The lowest amp setting on your charger is the best for the battery.

Charge it with the 'trickle' charge as soon as possible after use, then top it off with the same 'trickle' charge before your next use.

If you do all that, you and your battery will have a happy life together.

  2. Yes, charge it each time you use it.

    Set it on 12 volts.

Yes, It's normal for the charger to go to 15A.  but as the battery recharges it will slowly drop to a trickle.

You need to check acid level, if the battery has removable caps, (some do...some don't)

  3. use 12 volts and if you have 6  or  12 amps use 6 amps if its in a boat that charges the battery you dont have to charge it but if your using it fir a trolling motor  charge it every time beforeyou use it
