How do i charge my pc battery?

i use windows vista. my monitor power meter display that my battery remaining is -1% so it mean i'm running out of battery right? i tried putting the computer to sleep for like half hour and when i went back to check the monitor turned on but i couldn't see anything on my monitor so i unplugged my monitor and then i could see my desktop.but my meter still says that the battery remaining is -1%. below is the summary of my battery meter.

Battery Remaining: -1%

Battery Time Remaining: N/A

Battery Drain Rate: 0 mW

Power settings when plugged in

System Standby: Never

Turn Off Monitor: after 20 min

Turn Off Hard Disks: Never

Power settings when running on batteries

System Standby: after 5 min

Turn Off Monitor: after 5 min

Turn Off Hard Disks: after 10 min

what should i do to charge my battery? plz help

  1. Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to charge the battery without plugging it in.
