How do i check my wheel bearings to see if they are gone bad?

  1. You need to pull the wheel and visually inspect them. By the time the Wheel wobbles  it's too late. Every thing will be shot. If they are blue or pitted they need replaced. Grease them with wheel bearing grease when you put  it back  together.  


  2. an easy way is to put your car on jack stands just high enough that the wheel will turn freely.  grab your tire and push and pull it back and forth...if the wheel wiggles back and forth...you need new bearings.  

  3. if the vehicle has humming noise when travelling coming from the wheels then is time to change the bearings.

  4. Lift up and support the wheel in question using a jack and jack stand.

    With the tire still on, jiggle the wheel from side to side and up and down.  If you notice movement then the bearing is worn.  Also spin the wheel and make sure it is smooth.
