I have a 98' mitsubishi montero sport and i don't know how to find an air intake system that will fit it. Is there a way to find one to fit my car? They don't have any on ebay. I've seen a shield under the filter, is that usually included because i don't want any water in my engine.

  1. I suggest you buy the best LOOKING intake you can buy. Since they are good for absolutely nothing else then you may as well go for the eye appeal (if any...)

  2. Pick the most expensive one since you want to waste your money so badly.

  3. Yeah, make it. Just takes time, measuring, cutting, and a bit of elbow grease.

Just because you can shield under the filter doesn't mean water can't get there. Obviously a shield helps but if you go through a big puddle water is going to go everywhere including wherever your CAI is located. The best thing you can do is not drive it fast enough to sling water everywhere when it's wet outside or not get a CAI at all.

  4. Why would you want one?  They don't offer any fuel savings.  They are mainly for looks and since you can't drive with your hood removed, whats the point?
