How do i choose a good dive computer??

For my boyfriends 30th, I would like to get him a dive computer. how do i choose a good one, as i have no idea what to look out for???

send them an e-mail, they are usually quick to answer. tell them what you think he needs, using nitrox, deep diving, decompression diving..... etc.

you can do the same thing at your local dive shop as well. but remember, with dive computers, more expensive does not necessarily mean better, and the more complicated the computer is the less a person will be able to enjoy his dive. try to stay away from computers with lots of options your boyfriend does not need and with lots of buttons. personally, i prefer UWATEC. the computers are great and vary in options and i particularly like the warranty on them, they are reliable. cobra is another great brand. their are many other good ones as well, get on the net and read the reviews, leisurepro.com has some reviews on their website.

Greetings, I dive and I would suggest that you pop into his local dive centre and ask them what they would recommend, or get them to issue you with gift vouchers towards a dive computer. His dive centre would be able to give advice on how to get the best from his new piece of kit as well.
