  1. my advice:

DON'T BUY AN ACOUSTIC GUITAR IF YOU ARE JUST STARTING OUT ON STRING INSTRUMENTS!

buy an electric guitar, they are much easier to play.

but if you have your heart set on an acoustic, go for it.

Buy the one with the lowest action (strings closest to the neck) it makes it way easier to play. (but look out for fret buzz, that means the trings are too close) And make sure it dosen't sound like a peice of junk, those are the only two things you should look for if you are just starting out.

I have a stagg acoustic, its nice, but I don't know if they make good beginer guitars, don't spend all your money on  guitars if you are just starting, Taylor is a good brand too, but for starting out, I would go with fender or yamaha.

  2.    Go  to  a  regular  music  store  ,it's actually  more  money  if  you go  to  a  pawn shop and  it's  used .Look  for  a  acoustic fender ,.Ibanez, yamaha  or  even  rogue, what  you're  looking  for is  a  good  sounding guitar actually  but  you  can  pick  one  for  under  $150.00 ,cheaper better  for  you... look  for  the  package  that  comes  along  with  everything  you  need  to  start.visit musiciansfriends  site  or  guitar  and  look  around  for  the  price, and  when  you  have your guitar  ,here's   a  very  helpful  site  for  you....

  3. Hi there

If you lack money. Go to the pawn shop by all means. I own a 1963 Gibson, and stratocaster and others.

I was at a pawn shop in Kansas City and the lady did not know anything about instruments. Long story short, she offered me a Jackson for  $200 with hardshell case.

I bought it and use it on heavy metal gigs at the studio.

having said this, you can probably end up buying a Martin or Gibson or ovation for dirt cheap. If the action is not set right, put .009 extra light gauge string. It will facilitate your playing and ease the pain in your finger.

Here is a good link to start for chords.

  4. watch out for fret buzz, it is extremely hard if not impossible to get rid of on some guitars. make sure to play some single notes on all of the strings, especially on the first 5 frets. make sure its loud enough, smaller guitars generally put out less sound. there are probably other factors but i'm mainly a bass player. hope i could help.

  5. I disagree with El Rap daddy...haha, because learning on an acoustic will make your electric playing even better because you have to be more precise. But, I really like the acoustic sounds. And he means lowest action, don't go and ask for a guitar with the highest action.

There's a lot that goes into finding an acoustic, but I'll spare you all that wood talk since you just want a good beginners guitar.

A good thing to remember when finding a good beginners guitar is that its comfortable to play and that you like it. Play a few them, so how they are on your fingers, do you like the looks and feel of it? It pretty much comes down to your preference.

Taylor and Epiphone make affordable "entry level" guitars. Personally, I would recommend the LH Leiland dreadnought style acoustic. They play well, they look nice, and they stay in tune well. They are a thoroughly decent guitar and its what I learned to play on. You can usually find one for around 150 dollars.

Takamine, Taylor, Epiphone have decent guitars that run just over 200.

But like I said, it really comes down to your preference and what you like. Maybe take a guitar playing friend along with you.

Good luck and have fun playing
