How do i choose an attorney?

hi,

i was in a car accident and injured, i have trouble breathing because of damaged chest cartlidge...i think ihave a case but i dont know which attorney to choose there are like 1200 in the phone book! how do you know which one to pick??

i have been talking to one for the past couple weeks who just keeps putting me off like "oh, call me in few weeks and let me know if you feel better.." i think that is bullsh*^*. so i am trying to find another one who will actually get moving on my case.

any advice? i live in columbus ohio and the next one i am considering is schiff and ***., they seem pretty knowledgeable.

I'm so sorry to hear this...I hope you are feeling better soon....You need to interview attorneys; and please go with your gut feeling.  You want to hire someone who's going to work FOR you and WITH you to get the best results.  If you are having difficulties in your area finding someone you are comfortable with, please visit www.lawyers.com.  I have actually used that site for Q&As; and have hired someone locally who turned out to be really great.  I emailed about 12 attorneys and 10 got right back to me.  Check with your local bar association to research their credentials, etc.  I wish you all the best...
