A) A doctor/physician

B) Set up my own business & involvement in stock market

Right now, i am leaning towards B , however, i am currently signed myself up for AP biology, and AP physics, next year, beause i am really interested in science/medicine, but for some reason i want to go into business now, but i dont really want to do both. For B, i want to set up my own corporation, invent new things, and start the business myself, and be CEO, etc. For A, well my mind switches every month on exactly what kind i want to be. Im also thinking, i probably will have more extra time/family time if i become a business man, compared to a doctor, plus i will make more money and it will cost less for schooling. Money isnt the issue here, but i dont know what is. I NEED to decide now, before i go to college, its very important to me.

Which do you think is better?

How do i chose?

  1. Medicine would be a more certain path with a more predictable outcome. Business is more risky in that only a very small percentage of people make it to the top and the vast majority spend their lives in relatively drudgy jobs.

So I think medicine is a better choice.

How should you choose? If you're a risk taker with confidence, intelligence and a very high energy level, then go for business. Otherwise, take the medical route.

  2. well i am goin to med school in september so im probably biased! but i think that it is more reliable than business... doctors are always needed!! also being a doctor will have very high job satisfaction and good pay. the disadvantages are that it will affect your social life and there is paper work and long hours and you can get emotional. the good things i can think about business is that you can decide your own hours and pay but you arent always guarenteed a pay check at the end of the month. also as you are just starting your business you will have to put in a h**l of a lot of effort in. they are both stressful jobs. i hope this helps you make a decision!
