How do i chop part of an audio file?

I am adding an abbott and costello, who's on first theme and i have the whole skit, looking to shorten it up...How do i do this quickly and easily and keep the file short. any help will do. thanks..

You would have to use percific software, i font nero 7 sound wave editor really good!!

just open the file into it, play it and then you can sut the part out which you don't want!!
