  1. If you are asking "How do I clean the toilet?"...for stains, try a pumice stone which can be purchased in the store with the sponges.  Get out the gloves and basically sand the bowl where the stains are.  Then, for the lighter soiled areas use Clorox toilet bowl cleaner.  Squirt it around the ring, let it run down the sides, then sponge it down and flush.

If you are asking about cleaning the entire bathroom:  use vinegar/water solution (app. 1/4 white vinegar, 3/4 water) for the mirrors, use yellow ammonia and water (1:1) mixture for the counter tops.  For the shower/tub, I use spray Comet Bathroom cleaner and Barkeepers Friend for the rougher stains.  The spray works great for water spots on chrome finish, the vinegar solution works best for the stainless steel fixtures.

Floors:  I use Armstrong as directions state for linoleum, and Murphy's oil solution for ceramic tile.

That ought to do ya!  I clean houses (12 a week).

  2. Things You’ll Need:

    Washcloths

    Toilet brush

    Broom

    Scrubbers

    Trashcan

Bathroom cleansers (including floor cleaners, toilet cleaner and glass cleaner)

    Rags

    Disinfectant wipes

    Gloves

    Mop

    Step1

Start by collecting all the necessary supplies, such as cleansers (including floor cleaners, toilet cleaner and glass cleaner), gloves, toilet brush, disinfectant wipes, washcloths, scrubbers, broom and mop.

    Step2

Take everything that has not been affixed out of the bathroom. This means leaving out the bathtub, toilet, wash basin, and other assorted handles and fixtures, remove everything else, including rugs, towels, shower curtains, toothbrushes, toiletries, cosmetics, medicines, etc.

    Step3

Throw all the dirty and used towels, rugs and curtains in the washing machine and set out clean items which can be put in their designated place after the cleaning process is over.

    Step4

Start with the bathtub or shower area. Choose from any of the bathtub cleaning products available on the market and use them as per the directions. Use a heavy duty spray cleanser and let it sit for a while if the bathtub is too dirty. Remember to remove hair lodged in the drain and consider using a drain cleaner if it is choked up. Use a stiff-bristle brush or scrubber to clean. Rinse the area and wipe dry.

    Step5

Clean the tiles affixed on the wall near the bathtub or shower with a good quality tile cleaner. Wipe the tiles dry.

    Step6

Clean the counter tops and mirrors with a glass cleaner and wipe with a rag. Use disinfectant wipes to wipe the surface of counter tops and sinks. Don’t forget the faucets; remember to make them sparkle by scrubbing them with a rag.

    Step7

Clean the toilet next. Take good quality toilet cleaner, preferably with bleach, and pour as per instructions into the basin of the toilet, then let sit for a few minutes. Meanwhile, spray antibacterial cleaner in the tank and wipe clean. Next, clean the lid, the seat, under the seat and on the edges of the toilet. Take a toilet brush and scrub in and around the basin where you have poured the toilet cleaner to clean it. Flush.

    Step8

Wipe the walls and cabinets with disinfectant wipes or a clean cloth soaked in disinfectant household cleaner. Wipe the area dry to avoid water marks.

    Step9

Sweep the floor with a broom and pick up trash lying on the floor such as tissues, dental floss or hair balls.

    Step10

Mop the area with disinfectant floor cleaner.

    Step11

Replace the rugs, towels and shower curtain. Ensure that they are clean.

    Step12

Use disinfectant spray around your bathroom to kill the last of the remaining germs.

To get rid of unyielding dirt and grime from your bathtub, dust some baking soda all over the tub and scrub it with a little water. Baking soda can be mixed with dishwashing liquid and warm water to be used as an all-purpose cleaner.

If you want to prevent soap scum buildup and water spots on the tile walls of your shower or bath area, coat the tile walls with furniture polish.

Store your bathroom supplies where children and pets are unable to reach. Do not remove warning labels or brand names from the products so that you know what are they used for.

Use rubber gloves before handling any cleaning product and keep the area well ventilated to avoid breathing the fumes emitted by cleaning supplies.

  3. Elbow Grease. Tough stains try caustic soda if allowed in your country.
