  1. What you are referring to is called an expungement. Each state is different in their rules, but I can give you some of the basics:

Only a first time felony can be expunged. If you have two or more numbers, they will remain with you.

Each state has it's own rules about what can be expunged and what cannot.

Time elements apply here with most states demanding 5 years free and clear of all legal encumbrances and some states demanding 7 years.

Best advice would be to contact an attorney within the jurisidiction of the arrest/conviction for a consultation. He can tell you if you qualify for expungement. If so, he can draw up your petition and submit it to the court in your behalf.

Upon expungement, your rights are restored to you. Each attorney values their time differently, so the cost of this would vary. At your first consultation, he will outline what he will charge for this.

Best of luck to you and I hope this is useful

  2. There are a few things that I need to know.

    You can email me.

But the generic answer without all the details would be you can file to seal your records or expungement, but there are tons of requirements.

  3. One cannot change the past.

Change your behavior now and maintain it in the future.

    Your background stays the same.
