How do i clean my white mesh cloth gym shoes?

I got predominately white gym shoes really dirty. I would throw them in the washing machine but my boyfriend says that it will ruin the black trim. What should I do?

Fill your kitchen sink with warm water and a scoop of OxyClean.  Make sure the OxyClean dissolves well and then soak your shoes for several hours.  Scrub the dirty spots with an old toothbrush.  Rinse thoroughly and pull the tongue back so they'll dry well.

Try washing them in the sink or hosing them off, then stuff them with newspapers and let them air dry.  If you can put them in the sun, they'll dry a bit faster.  Putting them in the washing machine might ruin them.
