How do i clean the tefal surface of an iron?

warm up the iron and then gently rub with a scourer it works for me

Don't use a pan scourer!  It will ruin your iron.  Put some neat vinegar on a piece of old towelling and rub with that until clean.  Takes a bit of effort but will clean eventually.
