My cloths dryer is near the middle of the ground floor of my house. The dryer vent travels from near the floor behind the dryer, up over the hall way, and exits to an exterior wall about 7ft. off the ground. I would estimate the total run of the vent to be around 14-16ft. with at least 2 or 3 bends. I would think this would be hard to clean with a standard vent brush. Any help i appreciated.

  1. it wouldn't be hard, it would be impossible.  Just clean the vent closest to the dryer, and then go to the outside vent and clean there.    Do you have any trouble with your clothes taking a long time to dry?  My house is set up like that, and because of the long venting system, it take twice as long to dry.

  2. I used to work for Sears as a technician and I used to come across that problem a lot, what I used to do was take a leaf blower stick it in the vent that goes into the wall wrap a towel around it so that all the air was going through the pipe and outside and turn it on, it works great.

  3. I agree with the first answerer.  Any chance you can move your dryer closer to an exterior wall?  The vent run really is too long and probably too "bent".
