  1. Do what Catain Kirk says, then if that doesn't work abandon Yahoo chess.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&clien...

click any link in that search.

  2. TRY THIS!

Recently Yahoo updated their chess software program and you now need the new version. The first thing you will have to do is remove the old software demo. Standard clearing the cache does not remove game demos (deleting browser history old files clearing cookies, etc) They have to be deleted by manually selecting the Yahoo demo program.

Go to tools on your tool bar, then select Internet options, browser history, settings button, view objects. Select the game chess and then delete it.

    OR

Go to start,my PC, click on C-drive, open the windows folder, open the downloaded programs folder.your games are listed there. delete the chess file.

Internet explorer works best with yahoo games. If you are trying to use Foxfire make sure Sun java is checked as default java as it will not work with msn virtual machine java

Go to tools, internet options, advance tab. Scroll down to Sun java check it and java scrolling and JIT.

Yahoo keeps working on the chess bugs and changing the demo....

If you played chess before,You have a chess demo. Otherwise there would be no conflict. Thing is Game demo's are not tempory files they are programs. Stored on your hard drive so clearing browsers does not effect them.

  3. • Yes, this has been known to cure the "old version" problem.

    • A word of caution: read to be aware of what you are deleting.

This is how to clear the cache of Internet Explorer:

    • From the "Start Menu", Open "Control Panel".

    • Open "Internet Options": it will display the "General" tab.

    • Under "Browing History", Click on the "Delete" botton.

    • Follow directions to "Delete All".

Windows Help advises: Deleting everything can free hard disk space, solve problems with your web browser, and provide some additional privacy, but it might inconvenience you by removing information you might need on the Internet. For example, you will have to retype passwords that were previously stored on your computer.

I clear the cache often, at least daily, because the cache is a favorite place for undetected malware (e.g. viruses and spyware) to be stored by the forces of evil.
