You need a registry cleaner program. There are free ones. Try using CCcleaner or google some other ones.

Rarely can touching the registry impact performance. Its a database of settings. If some are wrong orno longer needed, so what? It makes no difference at all to performance.

But if you make even a tiny mistake touching your registry you are screwed, and your PC will never work again.

So proceed with care.

It can speed things up but is probably only likely to do this if you have years and years of "clutter" in your registry.

DO NOT CLEAR YOUR REGISTRY. It will destroy your Windows set-up. What you want to do is "clean up" your registry.

Download and install Registry cleaner (regcleaner). Its free.

Delete the entries of programs you know you don't use anymore.
