How do i compost around my home?

Me and m family want to compost more around the house, so we need to know how to start. What to do with our food scraps. And where to put them.

There are several ways, you can just start a pile in the backyard, but if you are only using scraps, it will become stinky (NEVER use meat scraps!)  If you really want to "compost" you'll need a percentage of green (food scraps) and brown (leaves, cut grass, wood chips, ect) and blend them together.  Check out http.www.motherearthnews.com to find the exact ratios for different ideas on composting.  You'll find lots of other info on living green at this site too!
